On-Line Submissions entry is now up and running! You can review your entries for the past year and enter your submissions, endorsements and cancellations. Remember - on-line submissions save you money. The stamping fee is reduced to 1/2% instead of the 1% fee that is charged for hard copy submissions. Also, using the on-line system, you will no longer have to submit paper copies of your forms to our office. Note: you are still responsible to keep copies for your internal recordkeeping. Important Update:Effective July 1, 2009, the Montana Insurance Department will be directly accepting and reviewing surplus lines insurance submission forms. Additionally, the Department will begin assessing stamping fees annually. (Previously, the Montana Surplus Lines Agents Association, or MSLAA, sent statements to agents for the stamping fees owed.) Annual statements will be mailed in February. Please note that surplus lines are still required to collect Montana's 1% stamping fee on all applicable surplus lines transactions. Agents who have outstanding stamping fees that had been previously billed by the MSLAA will need to submit those stamping fee payments to the Montana Insurance Department. Please send a copy of your MSLAA statement with your payment. Checks should be payable to the "Commissioner of Securities and Insurance."
