The Commissioner of Securities and Insurance is charged with regulating Montana's health insurance industry and protecting Montana consumers. All policy forms, agent licenses, and consumer complaints flow through the Commissioner's office. The Commissioner's office also performs regular market conduct and financial examinations of health insurers in Montana to verify compliance with state law.
The Commissioner serves as Montana's health insurance ombudsman, helping consumers file complaints and appeals, assisting consumers with enrollment into health coverage, and educating consumers about their rights and responsibilities. If you have questions about health insurance, call the Commissioner's office at 1-800-332-6148 or send an email to email@example.com.
To help lower cost and increase access to health insurance, the Commissioner's office has started a number of health insurance initiatives.
